One of the mostly discussed topics in the Communities of Battlefield 2042 is that many weapons are too imprecise. Mango examined which weapons of this problem best deal with — and found surprising solutions. Especially the MPS seems to work in Battlefield 2042, as you would expect it from assault guns.
Why are storm rifles weak? Since the beta, the developers of Battlefield 2042 have changed the behavior of the assault rifles: if you start shooting with assault rifles, the first fired balls are intentionally very imprecise.
This mechanics is called Bloom. Storm rifles stabilize thanks to her only, after a few moments of continuous fire — but this should be avoided at a distance. Players are very frustrated by this mechanics. Especially thanks to the large, extensive maps in Battlefield 2042, this missing precision of the Bloom is very common.
Storm rifles apply in many shooters but as the strongest weapons and efficient all-rounders. In Battlefield 2042 they behave differently than they are used to. Therefore, machine guns are the better choice for those who like to use automatic weapons.
MPS shoot more precisely and faster than assault rifles
Why are the MPS strong? The Bloom mechanics seem to relate in particular to the assault rifles, which were also playable in the beta. The MPS (English: SMS) has apparently remained spared by these measures. Therefore, not only the fans believe on reddit: the MPs are currently the better assault rifles (via Reddit).
Because: Although their fully automatic fire has a higher cadenza than the assault rifles, the first MP in the game is more precise at a distance than the first assault rifle. But they are not bad in melee — on the contrary. Also in Battlefield 2042 MPs are a power in narrow rooms.
As MPS, you are also very easy to use. They allow you to miss a few balls without having to keep the fight losing.
What are the weaknesses of the MPS? The MPS is not quite as strong as other weapons at distances, which is important in the big maps. However, much more important than the damage is precision: even the weakest bullets that meet, make more damage than the strongest balls that miss.
Especially because of the great distances where most battles take place in Battlefield 2042, it is important to make precise meetings. Because the Bloom is missing, you can do that better with MPS than with assault guns — also if that directly contradicts the general shooter wisdom.
Which MPs are the strongest? The first two MPs are the most accurate in the game. That s why they are the best choice. These weapons are:
PBX-45 : better cadence and handling PP-29 (unlocked with Level 18): More balls in the magazine, a little more range and precision
Both weapons are strong enough with their standard setups. But you can be better adapted to your own needs with other weapon missions.
MRS and Sniper dominate the maps, but are harder to play
What are the strengths of MRS and Sniper? An even better choice than the MPS are the semi-automatic MRS ( Designated Marksman Rifles ). In particular, the DM7 and the SVK are to be highlighted. These weapons not only brilliant through their high precision, flexibility and good damage: they have their greatest strengths exactly where the popular assault rifles weakly weaken.
For the same reason, sniper rifles are currently a good choice if you want to put on just a precise shot.
What are the weaknesses of MRS and Sniper? The biggest problem with these weapons is that the harder to play than the fully automatic MPS. They require very high AIM skills and can be quickly useless in the wrong hands. Even in melee, these weapons are much worse — just because MPS in turn have their greatest strengths.
There is an exception to the assault guns
There is an assault rifle, which one can still use? Although the starter MPs have clear advantages over the assault rifles, there is a weapon that opposes this trend: the FARM EQ.
The FARM GL is based on the scar-h. The weapon is known to bundle a lot of firepower in a few balls. This mixture already had in games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield 4 big fans.
Compared to other assault guns, the FARM GL has less Bloom, so hits more reliably. However, the weapon has two other problems in Battlefield 2042:
It will only be unlocked with level 27. It becomes perfect with unlockable essays.
Thus, the FARM GL is a good alternative for assault rifle fans, but not immediately. It requires some patience and a lot of playing time until you can make a difference.
