This list covers all known stars and brownish towers over (incl. sub-brown towers over) within 5.0 parsecs (16.3 light-years) of the Solar System. Until now 76 such objects have actually been discovered, of which just 9 are intense sufficient in noticeable light to get to or go beyond the dimmest brightness to be visible to the nude eye from Planet, 6.5 apparent magnitude.
